To Break or Not To Break...

A few months back when I took JT in for one of his routine check ups, the doctor warned me that from now until the age of about 4 he would most likely have bumps and bruises in one place or another at all times! Boy was he right! JT is such a little acrobat and he loves to sommersalt and roll around on the couch (which by the way just about gives me a heart attack!!) and last Thursday it finally caught up with him! He was playing like normal and got a little carried away (I think he thinks he is some sort of gymnast or something!) and proceeded to sommersalt right off the end of our chaise chair! He nailed the landing except for his right foot...when he landed, he managed to twist it and it went snap, crackle, pop...let the tears begin!! Of course we rushed him to the doctor to have him checked out. After about an hour at the doctor's office and an xray that you would have thought was torturing him (mental note-he does not like to lay on an xray table) we found out that his ankle wasn't broken, just sprained. We breathed a sigh of relief and went home. For the next few days, JT milked his "injury" so bad--he wouldn't walk on his right foot so would stand around with it up in the air like a flamingo! It was rather comical!! Anyway, you would think that a little guy would learn his lesson after an ordeal like that but oh no, not our kid. Yesterday he was at it again and managed to land on his foot a little weird again so of course he had to milk it again and make his daddy feel bad!! At any rate, we are glad it isn't broken and hopefully someday he will figure out that being wreckless causes injuries!
